Hi my name is Trudy and I’m looking for a new foster home. I am a good girl but my current foster mom is tired of fostering and I have to go. Of course, it would be much better if I would get really lucky and were to find that forever family I so crave. I would love to be your walking or hiking partner. I am seriously smart and perhaps I might do well in agility training. Being that I’m a lab mix I have beautiful webbed toes almost to the tippy toes, so I think I might like to swim if you teach me. I don’t have a chance to try at my foster home so I can’t promise you that though. After all that exercise I love nothing better than to nap at your feet though I would prefer to nap in your lap. I am a lovely girl looking for a lovely person to spend my life with. Please read more about me here (http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/24125186) and contact Silver Rescue for an application.

Pixie was rescued from the side of the road hungry, in pain, and urinating blood. A course of antibiotics offered no relief and she continued to eliminate painfully anywhere and everywhere. Her Good Samaritan asked Silver Rescue for help when she had no more money for Pixie’s medical care. We had no money either but with trust in the compassion and generosity of our supporters, we said yes. Despite empty pockets, we ordered x-rays, which shockingly revealed a stone 1 ¼” long, ¾” wide and ½ “ thick - nearly the same size as her small bladder. She could never have passed it on her own and would have died in terrible pain but for the kindness of a Good Samaritan who refused to close her eyes to a little dog’s suffering. Immediate surgery remedied the problem and Pixie is recuperating well. She is not only a cute, spunky girl but also very lucky! Her bill came to $614.95. Can you help us once again? Please make your tax-deductible donation for Pixie’s medical bills via: PayPal to SilverRescue@gmail.com Or snail mail it to Silver Rescue P.O. Box 111888 Nashville, TN 37222 The poor little guy wandered the streets cold, hungry, matted and smelly. He got what may have been his first meal in days when he found himself on the front porch of a kindly stranger. She tried to help by reaching out to area rescues but got no response. She reluctantly called Animal Control. In the shelter, he lingered dirty and matted for 10 days, but at least he had a regular meals and a warm place to sleep. On day 11, his keepers bathed and shaved him, trimmed his nails and completed his medical care, which included removal of a couple of rotten teeth. His vision is clouded with cataracts and they guess his age at about 10 years. Is that why he was abandoned – maybe for a younger model? His temperament test showed him to be a good little fellow, so he was sent to the adoption floor. Despite his age and vision, he was adopted the very first day, but his new family soon decided they just didn’t want an old, blind dog. Back to the shelter and unwanted again! Fortunately, a wonderful foster mom stepped up and took him home. Now he’s dancing the happy dance, pestering and snuggling with his foster Poodle sister. Steve’s foster mom is a professional photographer. She took these beautiful, funny photos. In honor of Steve’s escape from Animal Control, she named him for a Steve McQueen character who breaks out of prison against all odds. Here's a link to the movie synopsis in case you’re interested in old movies: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070511/ Other dogs may see better than our little Steve McQueen, but they have nothing else on him. He easily walks three miles a day with his foster sister and mom. He plays happily with his toys and is good with humans and other dogs. He’s ready to find a forever home of his own, but cataracts and advanced age make it hard to generate interest. At age 10, a small dog like Steve may have many more healthy years, so we want to give Steve normal sight in at least one eye to improve his chances. Surgery will cost $1,200.00 - $ $1,500.00. Will you help us help Steve? Please send your tax deductible donation to: SilverRescue@gmail.com through PayPal Or sail mail it to: Silver Rescue P.O. Box 111888 Nashville, TN 37222 Hi, I’m Steve, what’s your name? I’m looking for my own family. Would you please adopt me? I’d love to be your Easter Poodle. Check out her video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qtZdxhM1PU Clyde wants to be your date for the rest of your life. Won't you be his Valentine? Clyde has been at our rescue for 3 years. There's nothing wrong with him. Far from it. He is one of our best dogs. Its just that he's mostly black. And black pets are not wanted by most people. He is a sweet boy, well mannered, calm yet enjoys playing with his foster siblings. He is a sweet snuggler and gives sweet, gentle kisses without overdoing it. He just wants to be with his own person, and have his own home. He would enjoy a doggie sister but will be fine just loving his human. When our sleigh got lost on the way to deliver him to his new home, we stopped for directions near a magical place full of sparkling lights, and inflatable snowmen, Santa, elves, and reindeer led by Rudolf. Pete was entranced and couldn’t keep his eyes off the inflatable chipmunks bobbing in and out of their inflatable acorn house. He had never seen such a sight! What a wonderful introduction to a new life filled with the wonders of security and love! |
